GADGET GIZMO REVIEW 18,999 Gionee E7 Mini
SPECIFICATIONS
4.7" IPS LCD (720p) display, 1.7Ghz true octa core Mediatek processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, dual SIM, 13MP rotating camera, 2,200mAh battery, 142 grams Gorgeous design and display, 13MP rotating camera, great performance
User interface feels slow, longevity of rotating module not known, non expandable storage

The E7 Mini might sound like a compact or shrunken version of Gionee’s much loved E7, but it actually is completely different (even in design). For the price, it offers you MediaTek’s true octa core processor with 1GB RAM and a 13MP rotating camera with a unibody design.
We fell in love with the phone’s design and build quality as soon as we took it out of the box. It looks gorgeous thanks to the matte finish, unibody design and the slight curve on the sides. At 142 grams, the phone feels slightly heavy for its size. Instead of providing separate SIM slots for dual SIM capability, Gionee has innovated a single SIM tray that can hold two SIM’s — one micro SIM and the other is a regular mini SIM. Up front is a 4.7-inch HD display with excellent brightness, great viewing angles and fantastic touch response. Overall the phone appears to be worth much more than its price. Performance from the phone is great thanks to the octa core processor and 1GB RAM. Although the Amigo user interface looks good, it is sluggish (we think it's because there are too many animations and effects). The Mini has no issues playing full HD video or heavy games. It has 1GB RAM which allows it to multitask smoothly.
The highlight of the phone is the rotating camera. The only other phone around with a rotating camera is the Oppo N1,which is almost twice the price compare to this. The camera rotates smoothly and this action helps it double up as both the front and rear camera. Image quality is fantastic with minimal noise, sharp details and fast focusing speed. Battery life came to about a day with mixed usage — which is what we were expecting. E7 Mini proves to be another great offering from Gionee that delivers great feature and performance without costing a bomb. For the same price, consider the Intex Aqua i7 which has a larger display and 2GB RAM.
